Direct Objects
-Direct Objects will follow an action verb. Ask “what” after the action verb. Do not look in a prepositional phrase.
Ex. I bought a tie for school.
D.O= tie
Indirect Objects
-Indirect Objects will follow an action verb. It comes before the direct object. Ask “for whom” or “to whom” to find it. It will not come in a prepositional phrase.
Ex. I bought Jackson a tie for school.

Practice: Underline the direct object once, and the indirect object twice. Also label them with d.o for direct object and i.o. for indirect object.
- On my birthday, I sent grandma a thank you card.
